In the other semifinal:

Villa Park 4, Ocean View 3--The score was tied going into sixth, but Tony Aiga of Villa Park (4-0) walked, and stole second base. Aiga scored one out later, when Chris Johnson hit a ground ball to first baseman Matt Bertram, who overthrew pitcher Manny Lopez, who was covering first on the play.

In the consolation semifinals:

Fountain Valley 22, Laguna Hills 7--Fountain Valley pounded out 15 hits en route to an easy victory at home. Bob Agenter drove in five runs and Tony Spaan four for Fountain Valley (4-3-1).

Los Alamitos 7, Dana Hills 6--Mark Wasikowski broke a 5-5 tie in the sixth inning with a bases-loaded single that scored one run at Dana Hills. Two outs later, Mike Kelly singled for an insurance run.

In the fifth-place semifinals:

El Dorado 4, El Toro 3 (eight innings)--Bruce Petillo, who was 2 for 4, singled home Dave Moore with no outs in the bottom of the eighth to give host El Dorado (5-1) the victory.

Servite 5, Lakewood 4 (eight innings)--Designated hitter Tom Jacobs singled home pinch runner George Velasquez with the winning run for Servite (3-1) at Brookhurst Park. Andy Croghan (1-0) pitched 2 innings, striking out six, to pick up the victory.

In the seventh-place semifinals:

Irvine 9, Diamond Bar 8--Irvine erased an 8-5 deficit with a three-run seventh as George Koutures , who was 4 for 5 with 5 RBIs, singled in two runs tie the score and Marlon Bringas hit a sacrifice fly to drive in the winning run.

La Quinta 5, Sunny Hills 1--Mike Wilson (2-0) went the distance, striking out 10 for La Quinta (3-1). Mark Dion and Jason Cherms each had three hits for La Quinta. John Park drove in two runs.

In other consolation games:

Cypress 7, Western 0--Junior third baseman Steve Sheets went 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored and 3 RBIs to lead host Cypress (2-2). John Trejo (1-0) threw a five-hitter, striking out three.

Loara 2, University 1--Loara (2-2) pitcher Craig Clayton (1-1) had both RBIs to lead Loara. Clayton singled home Daniel Rodriguez in the fifth inning for the winning run.

Marina 2, Anaheim 0--Paul Newfield threw a five-hitter, striking out five for host Marina (2-2). Chris Boyd drove in both runs with a sixth-inning double.

Magnolia 4, Downey 0--Morty Neff (1-0) threw a three-hit, eight-strikeout shutout to lead Magnolia (1-3). Magnolia’s Roberto Camarillo went 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs.

Katella 8, Santiago 2--Katella (2-2) hit four home runs to power past host Santiago (1-3). Jeff Evans hit a three-run home run in the fourth inning and Bill Fitzgerald followed with a two-run home run in the fifth.

Pacifica 13, Savanna 10--Savanna was leading, 10-5, going into the bottom of the sixth when Pacifica (3-3) scored eight runs. Pacifica pitcher Shelby Hart was 3 for 4, scored two runs, had three RBIs and got the victory.

San Clemente 15, Kennedy 5--San Clemente’s Rick Brail was 4 for 4 with a home run and three RBIs to lead host San Clemente.

In the Colton tournament:

Mountain View 15, Valencia 0--Sophomore left-hander Ricky Zavala went five innings, striking out five, to lead Mountain View (3-1).

Canyon 5, Fontana 3--Winning pitcher Scott Myers (1-0) tripled in the top of the seventh and John Thibert, who ran for Myers, stole home on a double steal to give Canyon (2-0) a 4-1 lead.
