Southern Section administrators, who were considering moving the 5-A and 3-A division boys’ championship basketball games to UC Irvine’s Bren Center, decided Saturday that the games will remain at the Los Angeles Sports Arena.

Dean Crowley, Southern Section associate commissioner of athletics, had said Friday that the Southern Section was considering moving the 4-AA and 4-A championship games scheduled for Wednesday from the Bren Center to the Sports Arena and replacing them with the 5-A and 3-A title games, which feature Orange County schools.

“We decided not to change the schedule because the Bren Center might not be big enough for four county schools,” Crowley said Saturday. “We’ll go with the schedule as planned.”
