Southern Section Honors Jacobsen and Marcaccini

Crescenta Valley High guard Adam Jacobsen and Notre Dame swingman Monte Marcaccini have been named to the All-Southern Section team for all divisions.

Jacobsen, the section’s all-time leading three-point shooter, averaged 27.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.3 assists, helping the Falcons (22-5) reach the II-AA semifinals. Jacobsen, who has signed with Pacific, made 99 three-point baskets this season, raising his total to 387 in his career. Jacobsen also was a Cal-Hi all-state Division II selection.

Last summer, Jacobsen transferred to Crescenta Valley from Glendora, where he was a second-team Southern Section Division II selection in 1991 and a first-team Division II choice in 1992.

Marcaccini, who also was selected to the Division III team, led the Knights to the III-A championship and the semifinals of the Southern California regional, averaging 19.7 points and 11.4 rebounds per game.

Marcaccini, who has signed with Indiana, also was selected to the Cal-Hi Sports all-state Division III team. He was a second-team Southern Section Division III pick last season.

Football

The Ventura County high school all-star football game has been scheduled for June 12 at Ventura High. Dick Billingsley of Oak Park will coach the East team, and Cliff Farrar of Nordhoff will coach the West.
