Southern California Christian 3, Sherman Indian 0--Candle Silva pitched a one-hitter with 15 strikeouts for visiting SCC (12-2, 6-1).
In Century League softball:
El Modena 1, Foothill 0--El Modena’s Keri Burnside scored from third on a ground out by Tara Novotchin for El Modena (12-3, 4-1) in the third.
Orange 13, Santa Ana Valley 0 (5 innings, mercy rule)--Sheryl Anderson pitched a two-hitter for Orange (10-5, 2-3). Santa Ana Valley is 7-10, 1-4.
Villa Park 4, Canyon 0--Brandee McArthur pitched a five-hitter for visiting Villa Park (18-4, 5-0).
In Empire League softball:
El Dorado 5, Esperanza 1--Traci Vargas hit a two-run double in the seventh to break open a close game for the Hawks (12-5, 3-2).
Loara 3, Katella 0--Tammy Hyde pitched a three-hitter with six strikeouts for Loara (14-5, 3-2). Katella is 3-2 in league.
Los Alamitos 1, Cypress 0--Sheri Bergeron scored on bases-loaded a walk to Shelby Olmstead in the second inning for Los Alamitos (15-3, 3-2). Carrie Dolan pitched a three-hitter with 11 strikeouts for the Griffins. Cypress is 7-12, 2-3.
In the Freeway League:
La Habra 2, Troy 0--Danielle Ortega pitched a two-hitter, striking out nine, to post her 14th shutout of the year for visiting La Habra (16-4, 4-1). Troy is 13-7, 2-3.
In the Olympic League:
Brethren Christian 27, Orange Lutheran 0 (5 innings, mercy rule)--Reana Mendoza pitched a no-hitter with 11 strikeouts and Sara Lynch and Thuy Chau each had three hits, three RBIs and three runs scored for Brethren Christian (9-7, 6-2). Orange Lutheran is 0-10, 0-6.
Calvary Chapel 24, Capistrano Valley Christian 1 (5 innings, mercy rule)--Lisa Scherrer had two home runs, including a grand slam, and eight RBIs for host Calvary Chapel (5-15, 4-4).
Whittier Christian 7, Ontario Christian 2--Kristin Tucker had two hits and three RBIs and Debbie Goddu pitched a one-hitter for visiting Whittier Christian (6-9, 6-2).
In the Orange League:
Brea-Olinda 4, Savanna 3-- Nicole Graner had two hits, drove in a run and scored a run for host Brea-Olinda (13-8, 5-0). Savanna is 4-1 in league.
Magnolia 6, Anaheim 3--Magnolia’s Tiffany Mercado struck out 11 and had two hits and two RBIs.
In the Pacific Coast League:
Laguna Beach 6, Estancia 5--In the bottom of the seventh, Heather Holmes’ two-run single scored Jessica Roche with the winning run for host Laguna Beach (4-12, 1-4). Leah Braatz had three hits, two runs scored, and three RBIs for Estancia (4-12, 1-4).
Laguna Hills 19, Century 0 (5 innings, mercy rule)--Misty Thompson had a double, two triples, a home run, and four RBIs and Jennifer Milo hit two home runs for host Laguna Hills (14-5, 5-0). Century is 2-12, 1-4.
Trabuco Hills 16, Costa Mesa 0--Brianna Burkman (3-3) pitched a no-hitter and freshman Jennifer Griffiths had three hits and four RBIs for host Trabuco Hills (7-11, 4-1). Costa Mesa is 3-2 in league.
In the Sunrise League:
Connelly 9, Loretto-Conaty 1--Stacy Alcantar pitched a no-hitter, striking out nine, and Tracy Shepos drove in two runs with a double for host Connelly (6-0, 6-0).
In the Sunset League:
Huntington Beach 7, Westminster 3 (8)--Shanen Reider, who had four RBIs, hit a two-run double in a four-run eighth for visiting Huntington Beach (8-11, 5-4). Westminster 3-6 in league.
Marina 5, Rosary 0--Robin Yorke had two hits, scored two runs and stole three bases and Marcy Crouch pitched a four-hitter for host Marina (16-2, 8-0).
Ocean View 3, Fountain Valley 1--Ocean View catcher Rocky Willson hit a two-run triple in the third for the Seahawks (15-5, 7-2), who moved into a second-place tie.
