Indiana is known for defense, but even Coach Bob Knight loved what he saw from his offense on Tuesday night at Bloomington, Ind.

Led by Brian Evans’ 29 points and Neil Reed, who had eight three-point baskets and a career-high 26 points, Indiana pulled away in the second half and beat Big Ten Conference rival and No. 16 Michigan, 99-83.

The Hoosiers shot 74 percent in the second half and 63 percent for the game.

“We just had an offensive game tonight that was kind of like old times,” Knight said.

It was the first game for Indiana, 11-7 overall and 4-2 in the Big Ten, since Knight kicked sophomore guard Sherron Wilkerson off the team after Wilkerson’s arrest Friday on a misdemeanor charge of battering his girlfriend.
