. . . Mater Dei High School sophomore quarterback Todd Marinovich announced his intention to transfer to Capistrano Valley High School.

Marinovich, who went on to become a star quarterback with USC and the Raiders, said he “didn’t communicate well” with the coach at Mater Dei, where he threw 34 touchdowns in two seasons as a starter.
