Magic’s Hardaway to Have Arthroscopic Surgery
Orlando Magic guard Penny Hardaway will undergo an arthroscopic procedure today to remove damaged cartilage from his left knee.
Hardaway, troubled by tendinitis in his left knee, went on the injured list Monday. He is averaging 20.2 points and has sat out eight of the team’s 21 games.
The length of time he will be sidelined will depend on the outcome of the procedure, the Magic said.

Steve Kerr, the NBA’s all-time leader in three-point shooting percentage, was activated from the injured list by the Chicago Bulls before Tuesday night’s game against the New York Knicks.
To make room for Kerr, the Bulls put guard Rusty LaRue on the injured list because of a toe problem.

Cleveland Cavalier guard Bob Sura had his injured left ankle put in a cast and will be evaluated again in two weeks.
Coach Mike Fratello estimated that Sura, who has been out since Nov. 19 with a severe sprain and tendinitis, would sit out 5-6 more weeks.
“I’m just guessing, but by the time he gets back and ready to play, that’s what you’re looking at,” Fratello said.

Phoenix guard Rex Chapman aggravated a strained left hamstring against Vancouver on Tuesday night. He will undergo an MRI exam today. . . . The Atlanta Hawks re-signed guard Randy Livingston and put forward Anthony Miller on the injured list because of a sore back.
