Cal State Northridge football is suddenly a hot commodity.

Northridge’s nonconference game at Hawaii on Saturday will be shown live on Fox Sports West 2 at 10 p.m.

Jim Leahey will do play-by-play, with Robert Kekaula handling commentary.

The game was not on the TV schedule originally, but Northridge and Hawaii opened a few eyes in their openers. Northridge routed Boise State, 63-23, and Hawaii downed Minnesota, 17-3.

Ronald Kopita, vice president of student affairs, said Northridge has been guaranteed $90,000 by Hawaii for playing in Honolulu. After expenses, the Matadors expect a $40,000 profit, a school record.
