Montana 66, Cal State Northridge 53--Linda Weyler had 21 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Lady Griz (22-7) over the defending champion Matadors (18-10) in the championship game of the Big Sky Conference tournament at Missoula, Mont.

Montana, coming off its first losing season in Coach Robin Selvig’s 22 years, advances to the NCAA tournament for the 14th time.

Northridge trailed at halftime, 23-21, before opening the second half with a 10-0 run to take a 31-23 lead on a layup by Daphne Verrept with 17:15 to play.

Montana answered with a three-point basket by Simarron Schildt, two free throws by Megan Harrington, a basket by Julie Deming and a free throw by Weyler to tie the score at 31-31.

Northridge led, 47-45, after a free throw by RaShawnda Richardson with 6:35 remaining when Weyler sparked a 9-0 run, finished by a Weyler follow shot with 2:48 remaining that made the score 54-47.

The Lady Griz made 10 of 12 foul shots in the last 1:01, including five of six by Weyler, who finished with an 11-of-16 effort from the free-throw line and was named the tournament’s MVP.

Neda Milic led Northridge with 12 points and three assists.

No. 3 Louisiana Tech 97, Western Kentucky 94--Tamicha Jackson made a three-point basket with 1.2 seconds remaining as the Lady Techsters (28-2) won the Sun Belt tournament at Bowling Green, Ky. Betty Lennox led Louisiana Tech (28-2) with 25 points. Jamie Britt had 23 points for Western Kentucky (21-9).

No. 10 Iowa State 75, Texas 65--Desiree Francis scored 19 points as the Cyclones (25-5) defeated the Longhorns (21-12) at Kansas City, Mo., to win their first Big 12 tournament championship.

No. 14 Old Dominion 92, North Carolina Wilmington 49--The Lady Monarchs (27-4) used a strong defensive effort to roll over the Lady Seahawks (18-12) at Richmond, Va., and win the Colonial Athletic Assn. tournament for the ninth consecutive year.

The victory was Old Dominion’s 102nd in a row against CAA competition, and allowed it to break Texas’ mark of eight consecutive conference tournament titles. The Lady Longhorns did it in the Southwest Conference from 1983-90.

No. 22 Arizona 64, California 58--Reshea Bristol scored eight of her 21 points in the final two minutes to lift the Wildcats (24-6, 13-5) over the Golden Bears (11-17, 6-12) in a Pacific 10 Conference finale at Berkeley.

Stanford 91, Arizona State 67--Lauren St. Clair scored 14 points as the the Cardinal (20-8, 13-5) routed the Sun Devils (14-4, 7-11) at Palo Alto to finish tied for second in the Pacific 10 with Arizona behind Oregon.
