Baseball: Chance Hroch strikes out 11 in 3-0 Vista Murrieta victory

Chance Hroch of Vista Murrieta struck out 11 and allowed two hits in a 3-0 victory over Great Oak on Thursday in a Southwestern League game.

Murrieta Mesa remained in first place by rallying for a 4-3 win over Murrieta Valley. The Rams scored three runs in the sixth inning to improve to 17-4 overall and 7-0 in league.

Riverside North defeated Canyon Springs, 2-1. Shane Martinez threw two innings of shutout relief. Martinez and Nick Pena had two hits each.

In Burroughs’ 11-1 win over Muir, Mitch Lefevre had two doubles and three RBIs.

Zane Lindeman struck out eight in La Salle’s 5-1 win over Gardena Serra.

Culver City defeated Lawndale, 3-1. Nolan Martinez struck out seven in five innings.

Palm Desert defeated Xavier Prep, 5-0. Jeremiah Estrada struck out 12. Palm Springs pitchers have a scoreless innings streak of 28 in league play.

Sierra Canyon defeated Campbell Hall, 10-4. Billy Edwards went four for five and Jake Patterson hit a home run.

Grant defeated North Hollywood, 4-3, in eight innings. Kennedy defeated Canoga Park, 20-2.

Einstein defeated Newbury Park Adventist, 11-0. Sean Burns got the shutout and Phillip Stulman had three doubles.
