Baseball: Thousand Oaks gets strong hitting in 13-4 win over Agoura

Thousand Oaks (7-1, 3-0) established itself as the team to beat in the Marmonte League on Wednesday, routing defending champion Agoura, 13-4.

John Glenn, Jeff Wilson and Ryan Pemberton each had three hits for the Lancers. Glenn hit a two-run home run. Bailey Holbrook threw a complete game. Ben Baird finished with three hits for Agoura (8-2, 2-1).

Newbury Park 3, Westlake 1: Thomas Ponticelli threw a five-hitter. Zach Clarke had two hits and two RBI for the Panthers. Westlake is protesting the game because of an umpire’s call.

Oaks Christian 5, Calabasas 3: Sophomore Holden Christian threw 6 1/3 innings to pick up the win. Riley Helland had two hits and Noah Prewett had a home run, double and two RBI.

Royal 12, Simi Valley 6: Kurt Johnson struck out six in six innings and had a two-run double to lead the Highlanders. Freshman Jaden Fein had two RBI. Matt Sciumbato went two for two with two RBI.

Long Beach Wilson 3, Long Beach Millikan 1: The Bruins won the Moore League opener. Mike Fitzgerald, Trevor Barlow, Riley Dent and Max Cauble each had two hits. Cole Leaf threw 1 2/3 innings to pick up the save. Jacob Hughey went two for two for Millikan.

Grace Brethren 10, Malibu 0: Pepperdine-bound Easton Lucas threw a no-hitter. He has allowed two hits in 17 innings with 30 strikeouts.

Valencia 8, Saugus 0: Scott Ogrin went four for four and Kevin Chandler and Anthony Gomez combined for a shutout in a Foothill League game. Ben Fariss added three hits. Valencia is 7-4 and 2-1. Saugus is 6-3 and 2-1.

Hart 6, West Ranch 2: Austin Russ and Nick Plaia led the Indians with two hits apiece. Paul Richan struck out six and walked one in a complete game. Russ had two doubles.

Vista Murrieta 6, Murrieta Valley 3: The Mustangs (7-3, 2-1) handed Murrieta Valley (7-1, 1-1) its first defeat in a Southwestern League game. Luis Silva, Connor Cannon and Jake Moberg contributed two hits apiece.

Great Oak 14, Chaparral 4: Mitch Hayes went four for five with seven RBI.

Glendora 8, Claremont 4: RJ Romo, Devin Rodgers and Jacob Nemeth each contributed two hits in Glendora’s Palomares League win.

Orange Lutheran 6, Tustin 1: Garrett Calvert had a triple, single and finished with two RBI for the Lancers. Luke Mattson allowed one run and three hits in five innings, striking out four and walking none.

Foothill 4, Yorba Linda 1: Sebastian Lopez improved to 5-0 with a four-hitter. The Knights are 3-0 in the North Hills League.

Aliso Niguel 14, Tesoro 1: Demetri Colacchio had three hits and two RBI.

Edison 8, Fountain Valley 3: Edison improved to 12-1 and 2-0 in the Sunset League. Jake Scott had a home run, double and four RBI. Michael Mahony had three hits.

El Dorado 1, El Modena 0: Joe Russo drove in the game’s only run in a Crestview League game. Jake Mahood struck out five in 5 1/3 innings for El Dorado.

Anaheim Canyon 8, Esperanza 6: Spencer Clift had two hits and two RBI.

Capistrano Valley 6, El Toro 5: The Cougars won in eight innings. Jared Joel had three hits.

Cathedral 2, St. Paul 1: Bernie Fernandez allowed four hits in a complete game. Freshman John Virgen drove in the winning run.

Chino Hills 6, Damien 0: Bailey Falter threw a two-hitter, striking out seven. Elijah Greene and Brett Borgogno had three hits apiece.

Granada Hills 7, Kennedy 4: The Highlanders rallied from a 4-1 deficit to win the battle of Granada Hills. Chris Murphy struck out seven and walked one in a complete game. Matt Nash, Holden Mehr, Tony LaPorte and Murphy each had two hits.

Cleveland 10, Arleta 0: Ben Kaser threw a two-hitter with 10 strikeouts. Sam Villa and Raudel Martinez each went three for three.

Poly 4, Grant 0: Isaac Gutierreaz struck out five and threw the shutout in an East Valley League game. Gerry Perez went three for three with two RBI.

North Hollywood 2, Monroe 1: Leo Ortega drove in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning for the Huskies.

Verdugo Hills 11, Chavez 2: Marco Quintanar allowd one hit in five innings. Troy Richards hit a home run and double and had two RBI. Ivan Gonzalez added two hits and two RBI. Jesus Torres had a home run and three RBI.

L.A. Roosevelt 9, Venice 3: Kenney Gallegos threw a complete game. Robert Contreras went three for four with a home run and four RBI. Jose Jimenez added two hits and two RBI. Roosevelt is 11-1.

Fulton Prep 15, Valley Academy 2: Fulton is 10-1 and 4-0 in league. Jose Alvarado and Christian Leyva each had three hits.

Crescenta Valley 10-6, St. Francis 2-3: Brian Gadsby struck out eight, walked one and gave up four hits in the first game. In the second game, Weston Walker went two for two and his brother, Chase, hit a home run.

Burroughs 10, Florida Key West 8: Aidan Anding had three hits for the Indians.

Redondo 5-7, Torrance 0-1: Jason Dicochea threw six shutout innings in the first game. Duncan McKinnon had two hits and Cooper Gallion hit his third home run in the second game.
