Baseball: Will St. John Bosco make bid to hire Andy Nieto?

Now that Andy Nieto of Bishop Amat just won his fourth Southern Section championship coaching the Lancers to the Division 3 championship, the question is whether St. John Bosco will try to hire Nieto?

That’s the speculation, since the Braves need to find someone who can get the program to compete in the tough Trinity League.

Nieto said Friday he had not been contacted by St. John Bosco, but now that the season is over, look for the Braves to be very interested in Nieto, a former USC assistant coach who has fit it in well dealing with parents and players at the private-school level.
