Boys’ basketball: Fairfax, Oak Park advance to Maranatha final

Two basketball teams playing at a high level so far this summer, Fairfax and Oak Park, will meet in the championshp game of the Maranatha tournament on Saturday at 8 p.m. at Maranatha.
Fairfax rolled to a 92-60 semifinal win over Chino Hills. It was an outstanding team effort. Donald Gipson scored 19 points, Lorne Currie had 18 and Antoine Monroe scored 17 points. Lindsey Drew had nine assists and Babacar Thiombane added 17 rebounds. Lonzo Ball scored 23 points for Chino Hills, which played without LiAngelo Ball (foot injury).
Oak Park knocked off Brentwood, 65-55. Freshman Riley Battin scored 23 points and Michael Alvarez added 18 points. Maxwell Kupchak led Brentwood.
