Football: Get ready for T.J. Pledger excitement
If you want to get ahead of the curve, prepare for T.J. Pledger T-shirts, T.J. Pledger wristbands and T.J. Pledger banners.
He’s the 14-year-old freshman running back at West Hills Chaminade who’s third string on the depth chart, but it’s only a matter of time before he’s the player to watch.
In his second high school varsity game last week, he rushed for 156 yards and scored two touchdowns.
“He’s the buzz,” Coach Ed Croson said.
Most of the coaches who know the players from youth football were well aware of Pledger’s potential when he enrolled at Chaminade.
Pledger is still behind Okalani Langi and J.T. Hill on the depth chart, but with each game, he gains experience and becomes more comfortable.
He’s going to be a very good weapon to unleash when Mission League play begins at the end of the month.
