Football: Jim Hartigan resigns at JSerra

Share

It’s big news whenever a coaching job opens up in the Trinity League, and JSerra announced on Friday that Jim Hartigan has resigned as football coach.

Hartigan, who once was also the school’s athletic director and one of the highest paid coaches in Southern California, resigned for “personal reasons” effective immediately, the school announced in a news release.

Hartigan previously coached at Santa Margarita in the 1990s. He was successful in getting JSerra competitive in the toughest league in Southern California.

No word on a possible successor, but you can expect Troy Thomas’ name to come up. The Crespi coach once coached at Servite.

That’s two prestigious coaching jobs open in Orange County. The other is Huntington Beach Edison, where Dave White is retiring.
