Football: John ‘Juju’ Smith knows how to make big catches

Share

When it comes to receivers in the Southern Section, few are better than John “Juju” Smith of Long Beach Poly. He doesn’t just look good on video. He has become a national recruit, and the Jackrabbits will rely on him in many different ways this fall.

Shay Fields of St. John Bosco, a Boise State commit, had a huge summer showing what he can do. Trent Irwin of Hart, only a junior, runs routes and makes catches better than many seniors. Rashead Johnson of Long Beach Cabrillo and Jordan Lasley of Gardena Serra are committed to Washington and UCLA, respectively.

Barry Ware of Corona Centennial, a UCLA commit, is tall and tough. Dallis Todd of La Mirada is an Oklahoma commit who’s 6-5 and fast. Erik Brown of Summit is another Washington commit.
