Football: Kicker Charlie Beall proves to be great weapon at St. Margaret’s

Of the 10 teams playing in CIF state championship football bowl games on Friday and Saturday at StubHub Center in Carson, St. Margaret’s might have the weapon everybody wants.
Senior kicker Charlie Beall, headed to Stanford, has made 10 of 12 field goals and has booted 89 kickoffs into the end zone for touchbacks. That’s about as automatic as it gets. He’s a defensive coordinator’s dream player.
“To have a weapon like that . . .you’re making everyone start 80 yards away for a touchdown,” Coach Stephen Barbee said.
St. Margaret’s plays Modesto Central Catholic on Friday in the Division IV final at 4 p.m.
