Girls’ basketball: Chaminade’s Valerie Higgins commits to USC

Valerie Higgins, a 6-foot standout senior girls’ basketball player at Chaminade, has committed to USC.
She helped the Eagles win the Southern Section Open Division championship last season.
She’s known for her rebounding, defense and hustle. She averaged 14.9 points and 9.8 rebounds.
