Track: Two Ventura County pole vaulters clear 17-0 at Southern Section finals
Luigi Colella clears 17-0 3/4; Curtis Godin wins 100, 200
It was pole vault mania at Saturday’s Southern Section track and field championships.
Early in the afternoon, Luigi Colella of Thousand Oaks cleared 17-0 3/4 inches to win the Division 2 pole.
Then Jake David of Ventura cleared 17-1 to win the Division 1 pole vault.
Orange Lutheran’s Carl Johansson set a Division 3 record clearing 16-9 1/2.
