Danielle Day
SCHOOL: Quartz Hill
YEAR: Senior
SPORT: Cross-country
SEASON AT A GLANCE: Due to a disappointing--by her standards--track season. Day was regarded as something of a question mark entering cross-country. She removed those doubts Saturday by winning the large schools race of the Ojai Invitational at lake Casitas with the fastest time of the meet.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: Day’s 18:35 clocking over the three-mile course at Lake Casitas gave her a 12-second margin of victory over Robin Scott of San Marcos and was six seconds faster than Elaine Canchola of Nordhoff ran in the small schools race.
