Stephen Colbert has some serious doubts about President Trump’s claim that he would have run into Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School during the shooting earlier this month.

Colbert kicked off Monday night’s episode of “The Late Show” noting how, more than a year into his presidency, Trump somehow still manages to surprise him daily.

“I go to bed every night believing there's nothing he could say or do that could possibly surprise me,” said Colbert. “Then, the sun comes up.”

I’ve had to say to critics, ‘Who are you to criticize me if I’m reaching a million people?’ I‘m not going to dog someone if they’re doing that. But I can only think of my quest.

A play by Amanda Peet will replace Neil LaBute’s "Fat Pig" this summer at the Geffen Playhouse, the L.A. theater announced Monday, adding more mystery to the cancellation of LaBute plays at multiple venues.

Chrissy Metz of “This Is Us” was to have made her stage debut in “Fat Pig,” which was added to the Geffen schedule just two months ago. “Fat Pig” was to have replaced LaBute’s “The Way We Get By,” part of this season’s original schedule announced in February 2017

The Geffen did not offer an explanation for the LaBute cancellation and did not immediately respond to a request for an interview.

“Texas!!!,” Theroux wrote in the caption accompanying his photos. “Another very inspiring visit with the incredible people and pups @austinpetsalive.”

Though the bulk of the latest “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver” turned its focus to Italy’s election of a prime minister, the host took a little time at the top of the show to focus on issues closer to home.

The issue in question? President Trump’s proposed plan to arm (some) teachers.

Oliver began his takedown with a clip of the president from last week, in which Trump said, “We need to let people know, you come into our schools and you’re gonna be dead. And it’s gonna be fast.”
